Tehuti Research Foundation - T.R.F.

The Tehuti Research Foundation will provide grants for studies concurrent with our mission objectives. This research foundation will sponsor and finance research by various disciplines, of Egyptian texts and monuments. Research will examine the ancient writings and other modes of expression (art, architecture, etc) from a new perspective. The Foundation may work with universities and colleges towards sponsoring and financing such research. Some of these studies may be pilot studies that will encourage larger projects with greater funding. In this way, important new ideas gain legitimacy.

SINCE

1. Almost all Academic Egyptologists interpreted, and continue to interpret, the Ancient Egyptian writings and other modes of expression (art, architecture, ...etc.) without trying to understand the thoughts and beliefs expressed in them. Their explanations continue to be shallow, which reflects their pre-conceived notions of the Ancient Egyptians, as being primitive and inferior to the modern western world.
   
   
2. Only a fraction of the information available for examination has been assessed in light of present-day investigative approaches and some of it has been erroneously interpreted. As an example, Egyptian texts include references to stars and many other things that we have not the foggiest idea what these texts try to say.
   
   
3. New findings are uncovered almost annually, without proper evaluation and integration into a more cohesive truthful understanding of the Ancient Egyptians and the civilization that they created, that has permeated the peoples of the world.
   
   
4. The totality of the Egyptian civilization was built upon a complete and precise understanding of universal laws. This profound understanding manifested itself in a consistent, coherent, and inter-related system, where art, science, philosophy, and religion were intertwined and employed simultaneously in a single organic Unity.
   
   
5. The majority of existing writings weave prejudices, speculations and guesses within the evidence and in most cases, not even all the evidence.
   
   
6. We don't believe that present post-graduate studies in universities will ever recognize or encourage the combining of all disciplines into the study of the Ancient Egyptian civilization.
   
   
7. Our true understanding of the Ancient Egyptian civilization is crucial, not only for the understanding of the roots of our civilization today, but also for the correction of the misconceptions that persist about the Ancient Egyptians and for the consideration of using their know-how in bettering our world

THEREFORE

1. We want to re-assess the material that is available so far. Re-examine the ancient writings from a new perspective, exchange various findings and views in order to achieve a more complete understanding.
   
   
2. In order to build the multi-disciplinary study of the Ancient Egyptian civilization, we encourage people of all disciplines (archaeologists, geologists, astronomers, engineers, medical doctors, physicists, chemists, philosophers, linguists, experts on ceramics, clothes, etc) to join, participate, study, compare notes with each other.
   
   
3. The Foundation governing body will select and fund appropriate projects. The quality and findings of each project must be of a pragmatic nature, i.e., [1] Evidence must be clearly presented, pro and con. Physical and circumstantial evidence could be far more credible than direct eyewitness testimony. [2] Hearsay shall be clearly categorized as such. [3] Personal views are not considered evidence and are always separated from the facts of the case.

1. Revisiting the decipher process of the ancient language. We must do a better job at learning about the ancient language. We must also understand (or try harder to understand) the symbolic and not the literal meaning of the words. The fact remains that hieroglyphs can be decoded, but not exactly translated, and certainly not interpreted reliably or consistently. Translation of the hieroglyphs still presents difficulties. In any Egyptological journal, many of the articles are forever discussing nuances and unsolved problems of meaning, grammar, and syntax, without getting anywhere.
   
   
2. Study of astronomy and astrophysics in the Egyptian creation and other texts.
   
   
3. To have people of different disciplines translate the Egyptian texts and records.
   
   
4. Include projects that pertain to both objective and subjective reality as understood and practiced by the Ancient Egyptians, particularly on how the two approaches work inter-penetratively with each other to create the reality we experience or seek.

In order to build the interdisciplinary study of the Ancient Egyptian civilization, the Foundation will cooperate with established colleges and universities to facilitate the accreditation of research towards undergraduate and post-graduate studies.
It is also our goal to establish or support named professorships in selected universities and as a result, T.R.F. will become accredited as a higher education institution specializing in Ancient Egypt.

Tehuti Research Foundation (TRF) has and continues to have on-going research projects. The ultimate objective of our research is to truly understand the Ancient Egyptian civilization. We feel that the most effective way to carry out our objectives is to have Research Circles, i.e. several people studying/researching the same topics and sharing their findings and thoughts. Ultimately some of these findings will become a part of a book published by TRF. Participation in such Circles will vary from the weekend researcher to the full-time researcher, with varied compensation for their efforts.

To join a Research Circle, the member must be active. Egyptian natives are requested to participate in all Circles, to at least provide feedback about traditions, practices, wisdom sayings, proverbs, ...etc., that relate directly/indirectly to the on-going research and findings. We are looking for the stuff that was not taught in schools, even (especially) if it does not make sense and/or seem primitive/backward, …etc. Ancient traditions never die. The list of research activities are noted above. New subjects/suggestions are welcome at all times. Procedures within a Research Circle

A moderator will be assigned to each circle. Every message from a circle member will be circulated to other members of the circle. Comments, questions, discussions, …etc, will follow from other members of this circle. The moderator will keep the work in focus and on track.
The exchange of messages will be posted on the TRF website for viewing by the members (present and future).
Any comments/feedback/suggestions are welcome at any time.

Compensation for individual researchers will vary according to the effort and results, and also according to the individuals. Some people are passionate about the research, and are willing do a lot of work, not expecting anything in return. I'm sure there will be some people who want the "full course" for every step they make. TRF is a non-profit organization, and we have to be responsible, honest, and professional to our donors, as well as to ourselves. TRF will bend over backwards to those who have the passion, and will find a way to compensate them, even if they are not expecting it (possibilities include: gifts, books, acknowledgement in published books, considered as a co-author of a book and getting the appropriate royalty, free travel and accomodation in Egypt, membership on the Board of Directors, and/or direct payment if necessary). So, compensation depends on each individual case.

Research Funding

Can be achieved through private contribution and from the publishing branch of T.R.F., which publishes books as a result of these research projects, and outside sources as determined by the governing board. Public governmental and foundation grants, from all countries are welcome, for the purpose of establishing and constructing research programs.
