What is an e-book?
An e-book (electronic book), is a digital book that you can read on a computer screen.
How do I read an e-book?
To read an e-book, you must have an e-book reader. A reader is the free software that must be installed on your computer, in order to open the e-book and display the pages on your screen--very much like a regular book. Our e-books are available in formats for Acrobat or Microsoft readers. See the end of this FAQ page for detailed information about obtaining either/both Acrobat and Microsoft readers. When you purchase one of our e-books, you may download it in either or both formats.
How do I get an e-book?
In addition to Amazon.com and other sources, our e-books are available to purchase online from our website. Once you have placed your order to purchase from our website, you will be notified by e-mail within 24 hours, with the location (URL) where you can download the book(s), the user ID, and password. Directions on how to download are on that page.
Can I print out my e-book?
Our e-books in Adobe Reader (PDF) format are printable. When in the Adobe Acrobat reader, use the FILE > PRINT option to print any or all the pages. Our e-books in Microsoft Reader (LIT) format are not printable. (It is a limitation of the Microsoft Reader software.)
Is it safe to download e-books and e-book reader software?
Yes. You will not download a computer virus or any other malicious file when you download our e-books from this website or e-book reader software from Adobe or Microsoft.
What kind of computer do I need?
Adobe Reader software runs on Windows, Mac, PalmOS, PocketPC computers/operating systems.
Microsoft Reader software runs on PC, PocketPC, and Tablet PC computers.
What are the advantages of e-book format?
This format allows us to make the information available to you within 24 hours, instead of waiting for it to be shipped to you. Also, since we don't have to print the books on paper, it saves you money and saves some trees.
Can I see/practice with a free sample of an e-book?
See the end of this FAQ page for a free sample (in either Adobe or Microsoft) to download. Adobe, Microsoft, and Amazon.com also offer many free samples to download at their sites.
What is an electronic article?
Our electronic articles are usually individual chapters from our books, whereas our e-books are the complete book (or in some cases a large section of a book).
What formats does the electronic article come in?
Our electronic articles are available in PDF format and MS-Word format (you can download either or both formats).
How do I download my electronic article?
Our electronic articles are available immediately after purchase. Once the ordering information has been processed, you will be taken directly to the URL that contains the article. Directions on how to download are on that page. For most computers, it involves RIGHT-mouse-clicking on the filename, and then specifying a location (directory) on your computer where you want the file (electronic article) to reside. You must download the article(s) at that time.
Can I print out my electronic article?
Our electronic articles are printable. When in the Adobe Acrobat reader, use the FILE > PRINT option to print any or all the pages. If you have downloaded the Word format, you may print it from within MS-Word.
